Salon in the Library
The Teaching and Learning Center helps facilitate the "Salon in the Library Series." This series invites the campus community to come hear from various faculty about their projects, publications, experiments, and so forth in a casual environment with time for conversation. Faculty from all departments present over the course of the year, so the learning is broad. One training in March 2020, discussed climate justice and how climate touches all aspects of our lives and the academic subjects we teach.

In this presentation, we will discuss Climate Justice and how climate touches all aspects of our lives and the academic subjects we teach. I will also share my own journey from climate scientist at UW, working with my PhD advisor and co-author of the first IPCC report in the late 90's, to climate activist, on the front lines of the climate movement today.

More information on my journey "From Scientist to Activist" is in the following Medium article: https://medium.com/@huprice/from-scientist-to-activist-5a4ffe13e2cb

Additionally, North is part of a district of colleges with two other campuses. Once a year, prior to Fall quarter, a convocation ceremony occurs that has break out sessions for all staff and faculty to engage and learn from. Sustainability leads a campus green tour yearly at each respective campus.
