The Student Cabinet, administered by Student Leadership and Multicultural Programs, represent the student body by serving on key campus committees that shape policy and procedures impacting all students. Currently, Student Cabinet members serve on 14 committees across campus.

Most committees and councils require a representative body of staff, in particular, the college council, which advises the President. Per College Council Bylaws: The role of the College Council is to ensure that the constituents of the college will have the opportunity to participate actively and collaboratively in the development of policies and procedures of the institution. The College Council, on behalf of the college community, shall advise the President on matters vital to the mission and goals of the college.

Teaching faculty are included on a number of councils that directly report to the president including college council and the instruction council.

NSC has a campus master plan committee that meets yearly and is made up of members of the committee facilitated by the City of Seattle and the Vice President of Administrative Services.

Representatives from the above groups were consulted in developing the current district strategic plan over the course of the 2016-17 school year. Institutional governance details include development of a mission, vision values, and core values statements; college operational plan; and district goals. See page 40 for a list of stakeholders consulted in the attached strategic planning presentation.
