Student Leadership offers opportunities for students to develop leadership skills and represent the student body. Student Leaders build a sustainable community by assessing social, fiscal and environmental impacts to the entire campus while serving as the voice of the students. Student leadership is comprised of a number of boards that focus on events, clubs, campus committees, student fees, and sustainability.
Some examples of peer-to-peer outreach activities from 2016-17 include a sustainable food initiative, P-patch student gardening, a quarterly speaker series on race, free textbook exchanges, a pilot food pantry program, a transgender panel, a voter registration campaign, and advocating for free tuition at the State Capitol.

Student Leadership (SL) Consists of 30-45 students who represent the interests of the student body and are the student government here on campus. Student Leaders are paid work positions and are hired during spring quarter to serve as Student Leaders for the following academic year.
A brief description of the formal training that the student educators receive to prepare them to conduct peer outreach:
Two week-long formal trainings occur with monthly professional development occurring throughout the school year. The Sustainability Board applies triple bottom line principles to the campus and guides the entire student leadership body in their peer outreach.
Learning outcomes-Students will:
- Develop critical and reflective thinking abilities.
- Exhibit responsible decision-making and personal accountability.
- Demonstrate a commitment to social justice and sustainability.
- Develop communication skills and the ability to interrelate with others.
- Develop skills for student success.
A brief description of the financial and/or administrative support the institution provides to the program (e.g. annual budget and/or faculty/staff coordination):
Student Fees and the Sustainability Fund provide financial support for the annual budget of all supplies, activities and outreach campaigns. A staff of five advisors support the students are largely paid through student fees.
