A brief description of the institution’s certified green cleaning program:

In 2019, NC State became the first university in North Carolina to earn Green Seal Certification. University Housekeeping's sustainable cleaning program includes, but is not limited to: microfiber mops that reduce water use by up to 95%, a water-based cleaning systems that allows housekeepers to clean most campus surfaces with technology that converts water, electricity and a small amount of salt into an effective cleaning solution, and vacuums that have HEPA filter for superior indoor air quality.
