During the Collegiate Recyclers Coalition workshop portion of the conference, Adam Bensley from the Waste Reduction and Recycling Office facilitated a breakout session about campus composting and gave a presentation about the operational side of NC State's organics diversion program. The following description was providing for the breakout session and presentation: Campus Composting- Join us for an overview of NC State's closed-loop organic waste management system. This session will discuss the operational components involved with large-scale on-campus composting, including collections and processing. Whether you're currently involved with composting or you're looking to start a program, this session will provide tips for success and an opportunity to discuss best practices.

Additionally, Lani St. Hill, also from the Waste Reduction and Recycling Office, presented for the College and University Recycling Coalition 2021 Webinar Series on Justice, Equity, and Diversion and Inclusion in Your Program on June 17, 2021. The presentation was entitled ""Beyond the Blue Bin"" and focused on Integrating Anti-Racism and Intersectional Environmentalism into Waste Reduction Messaging.

In 2021, NC State submitted a case study called "Addressing Food and Housing Security Among NC State University Students," which won a Campus Sustainability Achievement Award from AASHE for best case study from a four-year or graduate institution with more than 10,000 full-time students.
