The University Sustainability Office distributes a weekly newsletter that highlights sustainability news stories, upcoming events, and other opportunities for community engagement. New stories featured in the newsletter can be found here: https://sustainability.ncsu.edu/news/

Information about sustainability such as building energy consumption during energy competitions, local events, and building features is promoted through a campus wide system of video/LCD screens that appear in many building common areas.
In addition, some buildings include permanent signage about green features. Education and signage is also part of LEED certified buildings.

NC State's sustainability map, which is available both online and in a printed format, highlights various features on its over 2,000 acre campus located in Raleigh, NC. Such features include the following: Beehive/pollinator garden, plastic bag recycling area, electric vehicle charging stations, Energy Star certified spaces, energy efficiency upgrade features, multipurpose trail, high performance buildings, community gardens, solar energy installations, campus dining locations, water projects, projects financed by NC State's Sustainability Fund, major public green space, bike maintenance station, green roof, and composting stations. Hosted on the University Housing website, this guide outlines various tips and resources for students to adopt sustainable behaviors in their residence halls. This guide is separated by the following categories: travel smarter, save energy, work on wellness, wise up about water, waste less, and eat greener. The Waste Reduction and Recycling Office offers an in-depth guide of recyclables accepted by vendors Sonoco Recycling and NC State Waste Management. The guide serves as a reference for students, faculty and staff. In addition to plastics, metals, glass, and paper, the guide also lists less common items such as electronics, hazardous wastes, and construction materials.
