A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution:
The Office of Student Leadership and Engagements hosts a series of Alternative Service Break (ASB) trips exploring topics of Clean Energy, Social Justice, Environmental Wellness, and more. The Spring 2020 Costa Rica ASB trip focused on sustainable tourism partnering with People First Tourism and Globe Aware. The students explored concepts of mirco-entrepreneurship, leave no trace, cultural awareness when traveling abroad and participated in community events, volunteering, and learning about sustainable agriculture at EARTH University. In spring 2022, one ASB trip partnered with the Applachia Service Project to provide high-quality home repairs to low-income residents.
