A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :

NC State's inventory was compiled with the help of students, faculty, and staff. Beginning in 2020, a faculty member in the Interdisciplinary Studies department began a project with a group of undergraduate students that focused on creating an inventory of undergraduate courses that covered the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The student team read through each undergraduate course description and compared them against the SDGs. After the evaluation was complete, each faculty member with a course in the inventory was contacted and given the opportunity to approve the inclusion of their course and/or recommend that additional courses be included. In summer and fall 2021, staff and student interns in the University Sustainability Office worked together to complete the graduate portion of this inventory, and those faculty were also given the chance to provide their input. This inventory of courses is not only submitted to STARS but is also a page on the Sustainability Office's website: https://sustainability.ncsu.edu/curriculum-research/sdg-courses/. The website also features a Google Form that faculty can use on a rolling basis to submit a course or courses that they believe should be included in the inventory.

How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each course was counted as a single course regardless of the number of offerings or sections

A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted:

Courses with multiple sections that are listed as the same course number and prefix were only counted once. However, cross-listed courses were counted as separate courses if they had differing course prefixes or numbers, and lab and lecture offerings for the same course were listed as separate classes.
