When the university signed the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), we conducted our first GHG Inventory in 2008 which serves as the the baseline year.

A brief description of the institution’s GHG emissions reduction initiatives, including efforts made during the previous three years:

Many of the campus sustainability and energy efforts, which can be found in the Sustainability Strategic Plan, Annual Sustainability Report and the Annual Energy Management Report, target the reduction of greenhouse gases. The most significant project in the the last three years was the installation of co-generation (CHP) system at the Cates Central Utility Plant. This project helped create a 24% reduction in greenhouse gases on North and Central Campus from 2010 to 2013.
