Sustainability is among the guiding principles of the Physical Master Plan. The university commits to campus development and maintenance that is environmentally sustainable: “meeting the needs of the current generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” (Brundtland Commission). The university will protect and enhance the campus’ and surrounding area’s quality of air, water, soils, and all natural phenomena that contribute to human health and the quality of life.
