A brief description of the sustainability trainings and professional development opportunities available to staff :
There are a number of training and professional development opportunities available to all employees throughout the year. Niagara College wide events such as Niagara Day and Day of Reflection, which are aimed specifically at employees, always include sustainability through a variety of ways including information tables, presentations and workshops. Student run events such as Green Day also welcome employee involvement and provide opportunities to participate in sustainability themed workshops, tours, and initiatives. Throughout the academic year many events, initiatives, projects and educational forums are also run for both students and employees on a wide range of sustainability topics including biodiversity, carbon emissions, waste, water, globalization and energy.
