A brief description of the programs sponsored by the institution to support underrepresented groups within the student body:
Niagara College offers many support programs for students through a variety of means. Some these programs and support services include a First Nations, Métis and Inuit Student Services Office designed to support students from aboriginal decent. Niagara College also provides a variety of advising and counselling services. Counsellors with international work experience are available for International students to ensure comfortable utilizing these services. Also, peer tutoring is open to all students and tutoring services has the ability to match students based on specific requests by the student. Niagara College also offers transition programs which match students with local seniors that can help the students become more accustomed to Canadian culture. Niagara College has a community program that provides services to enable access to community groups for students to locate and arrange transportation to churches, mosques, temples, etc. An employee from the Multicultural Centre also comes to campus once per week to help support new International students and employees. Niagara College is sensitive to specific religious needs and provides a prayer room for students.

Niagara College offers many support programs for faculty through a variety of means. Niagara College has an Employee Assistance Program which provides a completely confidential counselling service to all full-time employees, their spouses and siblings in our College who have a personal difficulty which affect their effectiveness and/or sense of well-being. The program assists in a variety of topics which includes, but is not limited to: - marital - family concerns - financial - stress - alcohol and drugs - grief - health and other personal difficulties Niagara College also requires all staff participate in Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability training. The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act is to benefit all Ontarians by, developing, implementing and enforcing accessibility standards in order to achieve accessibility for Ontarians with disabilities with respect to goods, services, facilities, accommodation, employment, buildings, structures and premises. Niagara College is also sensitive to specific religious needs and provides a prayer room for employees.
