A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive experience(s) offered by the institution:
Niagara College offers students a number of international field study projects each summer including projects that focus on Fair Trade and sustainable farming in the Dominican Republic. In 2013, twelve Niagara College students traveled to the Dominican Republic to work with local coffee cooperatives. The students assisted in building business plans and worked with the farmers to make their businesses more sustainable in terms of business strategy, infrastructure and the sustainable farming practices utilized.
