Throughout the year, NYU residence halls offer a variety of recycling options for residents as they move in, as well as information on where to donate materials that cannot be recycled in residence halls.
NYU offers "Recycling at NYU" presentations as part of Welcome Week activities for new students immediately after move-in.
NYU also places additional recycling containers in residence halls to accommodate extra cardboard during move-in.
However, NYU does not yet offer a formal program to reduce the production of move-in waste specifically, nor has NYU engaged in specific education efforts during actual move-in, and so has not claimed this credit.
NYU is developing a Waste Reduction Action Plan (WRAP) this coming year, which will consider move-in waste, among other sources, and recommend steps to address it.
