The University has adopted many of the NYU Sustainability Task Force's recommendations about improving the environmental performance of purchased goods. The current policies and practices adopted can be found in the link above. In terms of these policies' effects on vendors, for example, see Procedure number P166 section H that states: "Administrative Services will make every effort to secure contracts with suppliers that are socially and environmentally conscientious, and certified green"; and section I describing socially-responsible and ethical purchasing standards.
