NYU Administrative Services' Policies and Procedures Manual describes the university's intention to procure products with high post-consumer recycled content, including at least 30% post-consumer content recycled office paper (and other paper products), with 100% post-consumer recycled content encouraged.

Recycled paper is used for almost all copy jobs at NYU and there is a stated preference for recycled-content paper and office supplies in administrative mailings, web materials, and other resources. Though the purchasing system is not centralized, staff using the Stapleslink website are directed to recycled-content paper in a variety of ways, and departments which procure virgin paper are sent letters, samples of recycled-content paper, and more.
