A brief description of the trayless dining program:
The majority of NYU residential dining locations are trayless. Food waste per meal has decreased significantly with the implementation of this policy with breakfast waste decreasing from 1.54 lbs to .93 lbs, lunch waste decreasing from 1.98 lbs to 1 lbs, and dinner waste decreasing from 3.03 lbs to 1.34 lbs.
