A list or sample of the sustainability learning outcomes associated with the degree programs:

NYU is engaged in an active dialog with faculty around appropriate shared sustainability learning outcomes, and until this process is complete, the institution will not list individual attributes which do or do not constitute proficiency in sustainability for graduating students.

However, principles and subjects similar to those with which the institution identified sustainability-focused coursework have been applied in estimating current student population engaging in coursework or academic programs which will generate these proficiencies.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

To estimate how many students are reached by sustainability learning outcomes, NYU considered the following:

1) If an academic program has a specific "core course requirement" for a course in the "sustainability focused" listing (see ER-6), NYU assumed that the course standards for success require a student to internalize a learning outcome for sustainability, and counted all students in that academic program toward the goal.

2) If an academic program offers a course requirement for a sustainability-focused course but doesn't require students to take that course in particular, NYU asked the program how many of their students from the total take it.

3) If an academic program doesn't require the sustainability-focused course(s) listed, but specifically refers to sustainability learning outcomes in their overall program materials, their graduates were included.

The numbers NYU generated are estimates based and were provided by academic programs on a voluntary basis.
Not all programs had reported back at time of submission.
