A brief description of the institution’s formal community partnership to advance sustainability:

Members of the City of Las Cruces Sustainability Team sit on the NMSU Sustainability Committees while members of the NMSU Sustainability community sit on the City's Sustainability Committees. Both groups provide material support with research projects and Earth Day activities along with join efforts on grants, contracts, creating climate models, and more. The city and NMSU worked together on collecting data on urban heat throughout the city on a NOAA project and will be applying for another grant to continue the work.
