The NMSU Office of Assessment assesses its university programs. Diversity is one of the outcomes of the assessment measurement.

An NMSU program, "Closing the Loop", is one way that assessment activities happen on a yearly basis across the curriculum. To close the loop they review the results of the assessment and suggest implementations and measure the impact.
The OAP Office of Assessment, does ongoing, systematic investigation of a program, unit, or institution for the purpose of continually improving that program, unit, or institution. Diversity assessment is one of the main foci.

We post the results on our assessment.nmsu.edu website. Our EEO is part of our reporting as well. Each college has it's own reporting website. For example, here is the College of Business: We are assessed by outside agencies (i.e., North Central) and each individual college is assessed separately. College of Business is AASB Association to Advance Schools of Business" does an outcome on diversity of faculty and students. For example our College of Business has the following statement: Diversity in all its multi-dimensional aspects is an integral part of who we are at the NMSU College of Business.
It starts with our mission statement which explicitly states our commitment to serving the needs of our diverse population. It continues in the statement of our values where we unequivocally embrace the value of a diverse faculty and the need to prepare students for the challenges of a dynamic global economy.
NMSU was selected as an 2012 inaugural recipient of the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity award by INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine in 2012.
