A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the municipal/local level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
The sustainability manager and other volunteers advocate for a Bicycle Friendly Community, climate change, urban agriculture, and transportation policies. We attend City Council meetings to advocate for these and other things.

Environmental Science Student Organization, the Office of Sustainability, OASIS, and Defenders of Wildlife hosted a movie night to premier Leonardo DiCaprio's movie "Before the Flood". After the movie there was a discussion on climate change and our Defenders of Wildlife representative spoke to the group about how we could work with them on their causes and policy. It was a very successful evening with a good amount of the public attending.

We partnered with Citizens Climate Lobby (https://citizensclimatelobby.org/) to advocate for a livable world. Governments will respond to the will of the people provided we tell them what we want. CCL works to empower citizens to connect with and influence their members of Congress. To spread the idea that each one of us can address climate change.
