A brief description of the institution’s employee community service initiatives:
Our positive recognition of volunteers at NMSU are many. A few are the Ralph B. Crouch Award, the Donald Roush Award, and the Robert L. Westhafer Award. All of these can be found in the document attached.
In particular, for recognition of a staff member who has provided dedicated, outstanding service to the university is the Stephen W. and Robert E. Roberts Memorial Endowment award. All of the information can be found in the NMSU Policy Manual (attached) in section 8.15.10 "Employee Recognition Program"

Service learning is a major part of the education at NMSU. The graduate student council https://gsc.nmsu.edu/ maintains a list of community service project opportunities. 16 fraternities and sororities each require service to the community. Students in campus housing do community and environmental service http://www.nmsu.edu/~housing/general/theme-communities.html
Students at NM State get involved on campus by joining more than 200 organizations, pledging with 16 fraternities and sororities, and running for student government. ASNMSU has an aggressive program in sustainability.
