Does the institution have a central sustainability website that consolidates information about the institution's sustainability efforts?:
Yes

A brief description of the central sustainability website that consolidates information about the institution's sustainability efforts:

Our website contains many different items of interest campus wide having to do with sustainability, such as News and Events, how to get involved, an events calendar, Sustainability Council, STARS report, and a list of resources for research, transportation, and energy reduction. We are currently changing vendors for our Facilities and Services websites and the sustainability update is, unfortunately, last on the list, so it is a bit behind in updated photos on the home page. We have FaceBook and Twitter on our home page as well to connect directly with the students as well as an "email us your sustainability ideas" button. The emails go directly to the Sustainability Manager's inbox.

Does the institution have a sustainability newsletter?:
Yes

A brief description of the sustainability newsletter:

We strive to update people on the projects that are sustainably oriented, whether being worked on by the Office of Sustainability or elsewhere on campus. Summer 2011 is our first issue. We are issuing it online through our "NMSU Hotline" and "NMSU Student Hotline" as well as attaching it to the minutes and agenda of the Sustainability Council. Since our website is under construction we have attempted to get it as a link there but so far have been unsuccessful. Reminders to check out the newsletter will be put on our Facebook as well as our Twitter accounts.

Does the institution have signage on the grounds about sustainable grounds-keeping strategies employed?:
Yes

A brief description of signage on the grounds about sustainable grounds-keeping strategies employed:

We are in the heart of the Chihuahuan Desert. We have a Chihuahuan Desert garden that has all local native plants with a beautiful walking path through it. Each plant is identified with a brief description of its value in the desert. It is on one of the major malls that dissects campus. We also have signs across campus that give the names of local trees in English and their Latin names.

Once approved by our Campus Planning Committee, the day after this report is due, we will have signs in our xeriscaped areas talking about desert landscaping.
