Books to BOYO

A brief description of the campaign:

BOYO Social Welfare Foundation was founded by Professor Lee Chia Tung from NTHU, serving to provide children in disadvantaged areas with essential learning resources. Books to BOYO is a campaign that motivates NTHU faculty, students and local residents to collect and donate children's books in both Chinese and English, giving the children an opportunity to find joy in reading and to gain knowledge with the hope that they can eventually alleviate poverty.


A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:

Three thousand two hundred eighty-nine children’s books, both in Chinese and English, were donated in total, reaching four different branches of the foundation located throughout Yilan, Nantou, and Chiayi, which will help many disadvantaged children.

Sexual Harassment Prevention and Gender Equality Promotion

A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):

The Gender Equity Education Committee of NTHU has held several lectures irregularly about Sexual Harassment Prevention and Gender Equality Promotion for both employees and students.


A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):

Through lectures, seminars or information sharing, the Gender Equity Education Committee of NTHU continues promoting the right concept about gender equity. For example, in Sep 2016, the committee shared talks with both undergraduate and graduate freshmen and new teachers.


A brief description of other sustainability-related outreach campaigns:

The College of Life Science has opened a course "Future Earth Ecology Program", and it is not only for students, but also for the public.
