Green Dormitory Life Activity

A brief description of the campaign:

The institution held a "Green Dormitory Life Activity" in 2020 to encourage students to save electricity and to avoid waste. During the competition, we rewarded students with excellent power saving results by calculating the power meter, and invited the winner to share their experiences.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:

A total of 5 dormitories was involved in the "Green Dormitory Life Activity". We compared the amount of electricity used during the event from January to May 2020 and the amount of electricity used during the same period in 2019, and found that a total of 12% of electricity consumption has been reduced. After the activity, the students stated that they should pay more attention to avoid wasting electricity.

"Plastic-free" beach cleanup activity

A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):

We advocate plastic reduction for sustainable environmental development and to establish "plastic reduction promotion centers" in the community. So that more people can understand the waste problem.
We also held a "plastic-free" beach cleanup activity to let students understand the problem of marine debris. They recorded the types and amounts of waste, and realized the impact of environmental pollution on ecology and landscape. The students also reflected on the activities, discussed how to solve the problem, understood the importance of reduction of plastic products, and promised to practice plastic reduction in their lives.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):

There were 256 teachers and students participating in two beach cleanup activities, and a total 301 kg of garbage were collected and removed. The top five counted garbage were: 905 straws, 666 plastic bottle caps, 592 PET Bottles, 468 plastic bags and 230 disposable tableware in pieces.
After the activities, the participants deeply understood the importance of garbage recycling, and also expressed their willingness to reduce the usage of disposable plastic products in their daily lives.
