A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:
The Bike share program Launched in October of 2023 and is a joint initiative between the Library, Campus Safety and the Sustainability Office. The Muhlenberg community is able to check out bicycles from the library free of charge using their IDs.

Electric vehicles have preferential parking close to campus buildings while charging.

Muhlenberg does have incentives to encourage employees to live close to campus:
“First, the college owns some houses around campus and employees are invited to apply to rent those whenever the houses become available. The second thing is the incentive program the College has which offers $1,000 toward closing costs for employees who buy a primary residence in the Allentown School District. Here is the link to the program announcement along with the link to the form to actually request the $1,000 stipend.” (Anne Speck)

Yes

A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:
Debuted in January 2019, Muhlenberg provides access for all of its students and employees to ride any LANTA bus, swipe their College ID card and travel throughout Lehigh and Northampton counties, seven days a week.

The program includes two Chew Street bus stops on Muhlenberg’s campus: westbound in front of the walkway near The School of Continuing Studies and eastbound in front of the Baker Center for the Arts.
