A brief description of any internal sustainability professional development and training opportunities that the institution makes available to non-academic staff:
All Plant Operations staff are required to go through training that incorporates the many sustainable efforts on campus Recent topics have included: landscaping, recycling, and cleaning policies. All Dining Service staff also receive sustainability training specifically as it pertains to decreasing food waste during prep and meal planning. Additionally, a number of sustainability-related lunch and learns and speaker series are held regularly on campus for staff, as well as students and faculty members. Many of these events are hosted by departments outside of the sustainability office to encourage engagement of individuals who would not typically interact with the office. Most recently the center for ethics hosted ambassador Ramu Damodaran His talk is titled Hope, Opportunity and Despair: Speculating the Future of United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals was open to all staff and available to stream after the event for those not able to attend in person.

A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution :
Employees are able to attend sustainability conferences, webinars and trainings. FT benefits-eligible employees can use the university-wide tuition remission or reimbursement benefits for sustainability-related academic courses, including courses towards the master's in sustainability degree. For example, Sustainability staff recently attended the 2023 AASHE STARS conference in Boston MA.
