A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Muhlenberg College has installed a solar hydronic heating system of heat that is being used to provide hot water for locker room showers and sinks, and heating for the 225,000 gallon pool and also provides hot water to building VAV system re-heat coils. The solar heating system provides primary and at times supplemental heat to these three main building systems through a common heating header. The solar array consists of 24 evacuated tubes manufactured by Earthnet operates year round. The system is activated when the header temperature of the solar loop reaches 130 Degrees F.
