The inventory was completed using the most recent SIMAP tool. Scope 3 emissions reported included purchased paper and transmission and distribution (T&D)losses. Purchased paper was accounted for through paper purchasing records and T&D losses are calculated from purchased electricity by SIMAP.

A brief description of the institution’s GHG emissions reduction initiatives, including efforts made during the previous three years:

Mount Royal is implementing a corporate energy management plan to reduce energy consumption across the campus and address GHG emissions. Heat Exchangers and a Combined Heat and Power unit were installed in 2017 - 2018.
All new buildings are built to LEED specifications.
