1) Mount Royal has had membership with the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, AASHE, since 2011.

2) Mount Royal University is a member of the Canadian College and University Environmental Network (CCUEN).

Mount Royal is part of a Post-Secondary Community of Practice sustainability group that includes Mount Royal, the University of Calgary, Bow Valley College, ACAD, SAIT, Calgary Board of Education, and the City of Calgary.

Mount Royal is also a member of The Alberta Council for Environmental Education (ACEE). The Miistakis Institute is also a sustainability network whose office is located within Mount Royal University.

The Institute for Environmental Sustainability (IES) within Mount Royal University is a member of the Canadian Mountain Network (CMN), The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) Southern Alberta Chapter. The IES Director is also a Fellow with the Energy Futures Lab in Calgary, Alberta.

Katherine Boggs and students in collaboration with the City of Calgary has provided recommendations to the Alberta Science Curriculum related to creating 'bee friendly' spaces and education youth on the importance of bees for the environment.

Braden Etzerza presented his research and became one of the top finalists in the Oxford Global Challenge in 2017. His pilot project aims to address food insecurity issues for Indigenous Peoples.

Murdoch McKinnon, Sydney Trimming, Sarah Morley, Michael Wendlandt are Mount Royal University students who serve as the MRU chapter of CPANS (Canadian Prairies and Norther Section) of the Air and Waste Management Association.

Katherine Boggs, Professor in Geology, served as a Board Member on the Geological Society of America Rocky Mountain Section meeting in 2017.

Connie Van der Byl, Professor in Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal University and Academic Director of the Institute for Environmental Sustainability, is a Fellow with the Energy Future Labs in Calgary, Alberta.
