2) Mount Royal University is a member of the Canadian College and University Environmental Network (CCUEN).

Mount Royal is part of a Post-Secondary Community of Practice sustainability group that includes Mount Royal, the University of Calgary, Bow Valley College, ACAD, SAIT, Calgary Board of Education, and the City of Calgary.
Mount Royal is also a member of The Alberta Council for Environmental Education (ACEE). The Miistakis Institute is also a sustainability network whose office is located within Mount Royal University.
The Institute for Environmental Sustainability (IES) within Mount Royal University is a member of the Canadian Mountain Network (CMN), The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) Southern Alberta Chapter. The IES Director is also a Fellow with the Energy Futures Lab in Calgary, Alberta.

Braden Etzerza presented his research and became one of the top finalists in the Oxford Global Challenge in 2017. His pilot project aims to address food insecurity issues for Indigenous Peoples.
