We provide many panels, speakers and workshops that staff are able to attend on the topic of environmental or social sustainability

- Naomi Klein - the social change activist and climate change expert spoke at Mount Royal in 2016 to over 500 staff/faculty/students
- Working Mind workshops on mental health available to all staff and mandatory for some front line folks
- Why truth and reconciliation? The history of residential schools in Canada hosted for students, staff and faculty
- SOMAR Speaker series was a partnership with the Alberta Forum theater that hosted several discussions on issues that impact social and environmental issues for Albertans and Calgarians.
- Indigenous equity in education session
- The staff and faculty associations every year hosts a PD day that serves up 200 staff and it focuses on wellness, Indigenous ways of knowing and student support
-Mount Royal Staff Association also provides PD workshops on well-being, workplace support and cultural awareness.

The Mount Royal Staff Association supplies Education and Development and Training (EDT) funding to staff at Mount Royal University. The Mount Royal Staff Association provides $100,000 for professional learning and $25,000 for personal learning. This money can be used toward sustainable initiatives and education. Applications vary for this funding.
