The Mount Royal Library published an open access statement on March 21, 2014. In this statement the Library pledges to provide access to Open Access materials through the Library Collection, support Open Access publishing at Mount Royal via initiatives, funding, promoting, and protecting.

A brief description of how the institution’s library(ies) support open access to research:
The Mount Royal Library supports Open Access by developing open initiatives such as an institutional repository and academic journal publishing system. The Library is also an information resource for the University community where they promote open access and the educate on the benefits and challenges. The MRU Library also works with institutional members to ensure funding requirements for Open Access are upheld.
