As a result of the work of the presidentially appointed Sustainability Task Force, which developed short and long term sustainability goals and implementation strategies, a Sustainability Steering Committee was appointed last you to implement the Task Force Recommendations, including Carbon Neutrality by 2037. The Steering Committee is working in a number of areas including: energy use and transportation; sustainable food purchasing and dining operations; buildings, ground and campus field research; waste reduction; purchasing; sustainability education and awareness; andcommunications.

The Miller Worley Center for the Environment (MWCE) works with the campus to reduce the footprint of campus operations. Most recently the college has conducted a directed process to develop progressive sustainability actions to support sustainability as a priority in the College's strategic plan, the Plan for 2021. The MWCE led that planning initiative.
