A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability, including the issues, bills, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
Currently supporting a state-level, sustainability center at the college, created by the Illinois Community College Sustainability network, now the Illinois Green Economy Network; work with the South Metropolitan Higher Education Consortium Sustainability Task Force to address topics of curriulum development, operations, procurement, and student engagement; worked on the state task force to create the 2010-2015 Governor's Illinois Campus Sustainability Compact. Also, working on state wide Policy and Legislation Task Force of the Green Governments Coordinating Council, Green Universities and Colleges committee. Locally, working with Village of Oak Lawn Green Team and sponsoring the South Metropolitan Mayors Caucus, sustainability task force.
