A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :

During the orientation program students are educated on the aspects of the university related to sustainability while taking part in the campus tour. Orientation leaders educate students on sustainability projects throughout campus including sustainability in the dining halls and in building design. Additional information on recycling, water saving tips and other sustainability facts are provided during dorm orientation. During orientation, students participate in the information fair where the Office of Sustainability has a table, at which they are able to learn more about how to be involved in sustainability on campus. Additional information is provided during Catapalooza, which is an event that is open to undergraduate and graduate students, during which clubs and organizations present information and recruit new members. The Office of Sustainability has created an educational video about sustainability at MSU which provides students with an overview of campus sustainability efforts and the resources available that can aid them in creating sustainability related projects of their own.
