Yes
Percentage of employees (staff and faculty) assessed, directly or by representative sample (0-100):
30
A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
In the Spring of 2018 the MSU Office of Planning and Analysis administered the Staff Climate Survey (SCS) developed by the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) at UCLA. The SCS was designed to include measures that specifically focus on aspects related to the climate for diversity, including experiences with discrimination, and cross-racial interactions. The survey also touches on staff’s level of stress, satisfaction with their institution, and work-related experiences as staff members in postsecondary institutions. The SCS provides a snapshot of the campus climate, institutional practices, and student outcomes that can be used for campus diversity and employee satisfaction improvement efforts. Results from the Staff Climate Survey assess the campus climate from the staff perspective. Institutions can use the SCS as a tool for strategic planning and benchmarking.
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):
The results of this survey have been shared with MSU's executive council including the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer. The results of this survey are being used to inform current priorities and set goals in the most recent draft of MSU's strategic plan.
