A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:
Mohawk College is a public college specializing in applied arts and technology located in Hamilton, Ontario. Mohawk College has one main campus, and 3 satellite facilities - all of which are located in Hamilton. https://www.mohawkcollege.ca/about-mohawk/campuses . The institutional boundary captures the Fennell and Stoney Creek campuses. Each campus and its relation to the institutional boundary is explained below.
Fennell (Main Campus) - Located on the Hamilton escarpment, the Fennell campus is the hub of College activities. The Fennell campus hosts many classrooms, laboratories, applied research laboratories, a community garden, the Fennell orchard, a recreational facility, and the Joyce Centre for Partnership & Innovation - the regions largest institutional Net Zero Carbon building. The entire footprint of the Fennell campus falls into scope with the exception of the 340 bed on-site residence as it is owned and operated by a third-party. Mohawk College has no control over building operations or internal initiatives.
Stoney Creek (Skilled Trades Satellite) - Located in the east-end of Hamilton, the Stoney Creek campus is the largest satellite campus. This campus features skilled-trades instructional laboratories, classrooms, and automotive/machine shops. Stoney Creek has limited foodservice options compared to Fennell. The entire footprint of the Stoney Creek campus is in-scope as all operations are controlled by Mohawk College.
Institute for Applied Health Sciences at McMaster (Healthcare Satellite) - Located on McMaster University’s main campus, the IAHS hosts a variety of healthcare simulation spaces. The IAHS is out of scope of the institutional boundary as building operations are not controlled by Mohawk College. McMaster is the landlord and handles all building operations, waste management, landscaping etc. This omission is consistent with other institutional reporting.
Centre for Aviation Technology (Aviation Satellite) - Located at the Hamilton International Airport, the Centre for Aviation Technology hosts aviation repair simulation labs. This campus is omitted from the scope of this report as Mohawk College is not the landlord, and has limited influence over building operations.
