Environmental Technician Dipolma Students in the Environmental Technician program will learn the fundamentals of solid waste, water and wastewater treatment. - Study the sources, impacts, monitoring and control of water/wastewater pollutants, air pollutants, and solid and industrial waste - Gain practical lab experience in the sampling, analysis and treatment of environmental pollutants -Characterization of pollutants and their impacts on health and the environment - Study the fundamentals of environmental regulations, audits and projects, as well as Occupational Health and Safety - Brown field remediation methods, including site assessment, monitoring, mitigation and remediation

With the global awareness on clean energy and companies looking towards sustainable energy management options, the future energy industry requires skilled technologists that integrate conventional and renewable energy sources to create efficient energy solutions. Students study sustainability topics including clean energy sources such as wind, solar/photovoltaic, solar thermal, geothermal, bioenergy, and hybrid electric technologies and strategies for conservation and management of clean energy supported by microgrids and distributed energy systems.

Students in the program will learn the operations and service of diverse equipment related to heating and cooling plants. They will have the opportunity to explore the techniques in operating steam/hot water boilers, gas/oil burners, air conditioning and refrigeration, turbines and generators. - Explore the techniques in operating steam/hot water boilers, gas/oil burners, air conditioning and refrigeration, turbines and generators - he program prepares participants for testing and certification by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority as an Oil Burner Technician III and a Gas Technician III and the eligibility to write four Water Operator-in-Training Certification Examinations through the Ministry of Environment. These include Waste Water, Water Collection, Water Treatment and Water Distribution - Laboratory practice and work experience are components of the program. Optional training includes fluorocarbon refrigerant, ozone depletion training and certification
