A brief description of the campus climate assessment(s) :
In 2011 a task force and forum was created at the College. This task force engaged students and staff to share their
perceptions of diversity on campus.
A report called "A Sense of Belonging: Report on Social Inclusion at Mohawk College" was released in the Fall of 2012.
The intent of the report was to enhance the awareness of the campus climate and to make recommendations to the
Board of Governors for Social Inclusion at Mohawk College.
In January 2012, Mohawk College specifically added social inclusion to its Strategic Plan as a priority of sustainibility
commiting to ensure Mohawk engages, welcomes and supports a diverse student body.
From this Mohawk College has created a Social Inclusion network and space dedicated to the idea of diverse populations
and groups. This space is called "Social Inc.".
