This baseline was selected to align with the 2007 GHG inventory and major campus infrastructure retrofit completed in 2008.

A rainwater reclamation system was installed in the Community Garden during the summer of 2015. rainwater that falls on the adjacent rooftop is collected and used to water the garden and surrounding landscape, reducing the Colleges municipal water demand.

All water usage for the college is monitored through the utilities company.

All campus washroom facilities fixtures have been upgraded to lower flow alternatives with sensors.

Mohawk College Environmental Management Plan outlines the strategy and directive of sustainable procurement policies and metrics.

The Fennell Lawn was created using xeriscaping techniques, using drought resistant plants in order to reduce the amount of water required to support the plant life.

Mohawk does not have an irrigation system. Rather water is brought in by truck, as needed, when plant life is still young. This is in an effort to use a minimum amount of water to maintain the grounds.

Over 30 refillable water stations are located at all campuses. Mohawk is continuing its effort in converting old water fountains and adding more refillable water stations where need is identified.
