The IPM plan :
Mohawk has a contract with Orkin Canada a pest management company. Orkin Canada specializes in Integrated Pest Management (IPM), an approach to pest control that combines all available methods of preventing pests in a given environment. In our IPM programs, pesticides are used only when necessary to achieve acceptable levels of control with the least possible harm to humans, non-target organisms and the environment.

Mohawk tries to use plants that are native to the area whenever possible. This helps both in maintenance of the plant life as well as with bringing the College back to its roots. An example of this is the Fennell Campus Orchard which has apple and pear trees which are a nod to the Fruit Orchard that was on this land before the college was built.

Mohawk has snow and ice removal equipment on campus. Also, Mohawk does not remove snow from the campus ground and instead piles it on certain dedicated locations on campus. These efforts help to reduce the carbon footprint of the snow-removal process.
