A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation:
The Sustainability Office leads a Greening Orientation Program in partnership with the Mohawk Students' Association. There is a set fund on $5000.00 which is used to support greening orientation and promoting sustainability at the campus.
Each year the Greening Orientation Program focuses on one key goal. This past year the focus was in reducing the amount of single use plastics on campus. Over 2000 incoming students signed a pledge that they would go (disposable) water bottle free. As a reward the students received a free reusable water bottle that can be used at the over 30 water refill stations across campus.
