NON-CONVENTIONAL WATER POLICY : The University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) campus has implemented a non-conventional water policy to reduce its dependence on freshwater sources and promote sustainable water management practices. The policy involves the use of treated wastewater for irrigation purposes, which is collected from the campus wastewater treatment plant. This practice not only conserves freshwater resources but also reduces the amount of wastewater discharged into the environment, reducing the pollution of nearby water sources. Additionally, the campus has implemented rainwater harvesting systems to collect and store rainwater for irrigation and other non-potable uses.
The eco-responsible purchasing policy aims to express UM6P's expectations in regard of its suppliers and subcontractors. It highlights the institution desire to add sustainability selection criterion at the same level of the criteria currently used for cost, quality, service, innovation and risk management.
Share its commitment with its suppliers and subcontractors and ensure their involvement in sustainable development.
