Within the framework of UM6P SD Fund, and in collaboration with General Affairs Office and the Agriculture and Innovation Technology and Transfer center, UM6P has witnessed the official launch of the university Biodiversity-preservation project. COXIBIO is a biological control program aiming to replace the chemical pesticides used in the treatment operations of UM6P green grounds with a biological control solution. This sustainable bio-project is implemented through the release of auxiliary insects, in particular ladybugs and the landscapes’ treatment with 100% Bio insecticides products. Biological control is a method of controlling pests such as crop pests and weeds using antagonistic living organisms, called biological control agents.

The pest control method adopted at the experimental farm of the AITTC (Agricultural Innovation and Technology Transfer Center) at the Mohammed 6 Polytechnic University in Ben Guérir is a reasoned approach that falls within the framework of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). The use of pesticides is always a last resort and is only used in truly critical cases. Otherwise, other pest control techniques are integrated in the most coherent way possible in order to maintain pest levels below the threshold of harm.
Within the framework of UM6P SD Fund, and in collaboration with General Affairs Office and the Agriculture and Innovation Technology and Transfer center, UM6P has witnessed the official launch of the university Biodiversity-protection project. This training was an opportunity to promote the importance of biodiversity, learn about the green management of UM6P landscapes and exchange best practices with the experts on switching to a greener use of pesticides on campus.

The institution has implemented a water-related behavior change initiative by collecting and treating rainwater and greywater to be used in irrigation. This is a sustainable water management practice that reduces the institution's dependence on freshwater sources for irrigation. Rainwater and greywater are collected through a system of gutters, pipes, and storage tanks. The collected water is then treated to remove impurities and contaminants before it is used for irrigation purposes. By using treated rainwater and greywater for irrigation, the institution is able to conserve freshwater resources and reduce its overall water consumption. This behavior change initiative not only benefits the environment but also demonstrates the institution's commitment to sustainable water management practices
