Warm Winter campaign (2020)

A brief description of the campaign:

In collaboration with the SD department and General affairs office, the UM6P SD Ambassadors are launching the “Let’s Warm up this winter” campaign from the 7th to the 20th of December under the theme « Let us warm the bodies and the hearts ». All UM6P Community was mobilized in this solidarity action to give a second life to their clothes. A social donation campaign of textile recycling for the benefits of disadvantaged communities.

107 Families benefited from the “Warm Winter Campaign” in the rural region of Rhamna and the local orphanage

1st edition of UM6P Food Bank - 9EFFAT RAMADAN

A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):

Within the Framework of the UM6P SD Fund, the Sustainable Development Department launched in collaboration with ENACTUS UM6P and E-SOLIDARITY, the 1st edition of UM6P FOOD BANK to mobilize students and staff to donate money or food for the “Ramadan Basket” initiative in the sacred month.

This initiative consists of collecting money and food to provide “essentials food baskets” with the aim of alleviating the hunger of 100 disadvantaged families. Your donations will bring happiness to needy families in this upcoming holy month.

Ramadan is a month of sacrifice, patience, and discipline. It is a significant moment for our community to show solidarity and support for those in need.:

153 Families from 5 rural villages in the Rhamna Region benefited from the donation call. The amount of money reached more than 21.000,00 MAD (1292,76USD)

Name : La campagne de sensibilisation DD

Description: "La campagne de sensibilisation DD" stands for sustainable development awareness campaign. It targets employees in order to disseminate sustainable culture and behaviors at the campus.
It is broadcasted in all Media displays at the campus and in campus digital billboards

Measured positive impact: This campaign is broadcast in every TV all over the campus. It englobes easy daily sustainable best practices for the UM6P community to implement. To enhance their involvement, UM6P students were involved in a MEME off competition to suggest the best sustainable memes to be added to the global UM6P Sustainability awareness campaign.

It is shared with all UM6P SD Ambassadors to showcase to their peers, colleagues, teachers and other entities such as the Green Energy Park

Name: A Comfortable and Economical Winter: 10 Easy SD Practices to Do at Home

Description: Warm Winter SD Best practices is shared with all UM6P community during winter to adopt a better attitude to use equipment more sustainably and take care of their health more effectively.

Measured positive impact: This awareness campaign was shared with all UM6P community in their emails with its students, staff, PhD students, researchers, and professors in a simplified canvas to attract their attention.

Name: Earth Day at UM6P

Description: Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org (formerly Earth Day Network) including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.

UM6P community with its Students and Staff were mobilized on the 22nd of April to celebrate EARTH DAY online by sharing some of their efforts in doing charitable deeds for EARTH within and outside the campus on social media using The Hashtag #EARTHDAYATUM6P.

They shared a photo or a quote of any sustainable action they have done this year or the last year and use the hashtag to show their friends and colleagues their commitment and activism in preserving our EARTH at UM6P!

Measured positive impact: All the SD Ambassadors and some their peers were mobilized in this action, staff also joined on their social media to show the commitments of UM6P in promoting Sustainable Development.

Name: At UM6P, Every donation counts

Description: This campaign was a teaser to launch UM6P Food Bank, it highlighted statistics about the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) 2 and the best practices to tackle challenges related to the goal. It was in the format of an informative video shared with the UM6P community through YouTube channel and social media such as Facebook and WhatsApp.

Measured positive impact: the SD department received many requests to become volunteers for the upcoming projects

Name: Masters of Energy

Description: Sustainable Electricity consumption is the use of lighting, cooking, or heating services responsibly. Supporting sustainable electricity consumption is an awareness act in optimizing energy efficiency in our households or residencies.

In this regard, The UM6P Sustainable Development launches the 1st edition of the Masters of Energy Competition. It aims to engage individuals in energy and resource efficiency and optimization. The student will connect with their residence hall neighbors of the same bloc on ways they can together reduce their daily energy consumption!

During the next two months, every bloc from R1, R2, R3, and R4 will have its electricity consumption data analyzed and shared on campus screens. The residents of the bloc with the lowest electricity consumption will win the competition, be nominated as Masters of Energy, and will be awarded multiple prizes.

Measured positive impact: Electricity consumption at all the dorms at UM6P campus are monitored by the SD Department to assess the energy efficiency. This competition encourages students to be more sustainable in terms of energy consumption. A guide was shared with best practices and tips to make their challenge easier.
