A brief description of the key components of the custom OHSMS:

The Mohamed VI Polytechnic University has established an HSE Department in 2019 to coordinate, implement and improve the quality of services and infrastructure management. This department is in charge of establishing a risk prevention program and managing the HSE files of external companies. The department is also leading periodic exercises of evacuation and urgent situations preparedness in addition to ensuring safety in laboratories and buildings. Accidents and incidents are also managed and classified by the HSE department in consultation with the health center and the Human Ressources department. During the COVID19 Pandemic, additional efforts have been stressed on periodic disinfection of the entire campus and implementing Signage and barriers that respect the social distancing.

As for the green energy park, it consists of the same OHSMS as UM6P. It also supplies specific set of safety notes for operations and technical aspects of research and training. These safety notes are mainly related to hygiene of the laboratories, electric and mechanical risks, welding torch, working height… In addition, The green Energy Park is offering periodic trainings to the staff in the previous aspects to enhance the safety awareness within the community.

A brief description of the methodology used to track and calculate the number of recordable incidents of work-related injury or ill health :

Workplace injury numbers are calculated and tracked by the investigation conducted by HSE. In case of the accidents/incidents, it is tracked by the one in charge of the investigation. The reports are archived in the HR department. There is also the tracking of data by the insurance service provided by the university to its staff.
The ill-health injuries data are collected by the Health Center during the inquiries and archived in the HR department.
Any incident causing an injury to an UM6P employee, faculty, student, or visitor, and any damage within the campus property are always reported to HSE department and Health Center. If it is mild, the health center takes in charge of the injured worker. If it is dangerous, contagious or deadly, the HSE department is the one in charge of dealing with the previously mentioned cases. All investigation results must be forwarded to the HSE department for reviewing and tracking. Then, the final report is archived in the HR Department.

As for the Green Energy Park, they have an HSE responsible, he is the one in charge of investigation, tracking, follow-ups and reviews. He stores all files and archives in the HR department.
