EXCELLENCE IN Africa

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

The Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne (EPFL) and the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University have been associated around the project “Excellence in Africa” in order to implement a platform of online courses (MOOCs) destined to a full access for UM6P students and Moroccan engineering schools.

Being a pioneering school in MOOCs, the EPFL had the opportunity to put its infrastruction of production and diffusion into challenge since March 13 when all the presential courses at the campus have been banned due to Coronavirus risk of contagion. Under the ‘Excellence in Africa’ initiative, they provided free digital education resources and training in online pedagogy to university professors from 34 institutions based in 12 countries

Students are now able to beneficiate from more than 40 MOOCs of high level and quality designed by EPFL. UM6P professors can take over the taught material, monitor their students and give them tests on this basis.
