The name of the regional, state/provincial or local sustainability network(s):
The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is a founder partner of OTED “OCP Territorial Empowerment & Development” which mission is fostering the emergence of innovative projects responding to specific territorial issues by prioritizing collective intelligence strategies in creating shared values. The network had launched two territorial Labs in the region of Marrakech-Safi : Essaouira Innovation Lab in November 2018 and Rhamna innovation Lab in January 2020 in which volunteer experts are working in narrow collaboration with local, regional and private actors in order to co-design innovative sustainable solutions that meet the common good of the local and the regional community. In addition, OTED is working on the academic pillar by deploying academic training related to the territorial and collective intelligence besides promoting the academic research oriented towards participative steps of territorial development.

An international Workshop in collaboration with the Partnership for skills in Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (PASET) was attended in May 2019 by representatives from the eleven African Host universities (AHUs) and counterpart research teams from UM6P. Representatives from the World Bank, OCP, and ICIPE also attended the three-day meeting (Kindly find it attached below). The workshop was designed to allow the two parties to better understand their respective missions and ‘modus operandi’ to facilitate partnership building and identification of specific areas and activities for the collaboration. The three-day workshop included facilitated discussions, site visits and breakout sessions. The discussions were arranged based on the five PASET thematic areas of:
i) food security & agribusiness,
ii) Climate change,
iii) Energy including renewables,
iv) ICT including artificial intelligence
v) Minerals and Material Science.

A brief description of the mentoring relationship and activities:
The UM6P is involved in a partnership with Solutions conseil Stratégique Inc, aiming at assisting the UM6P in the reporting process towards STARS Accreditation through a contract with its president: the expert ERIC Bauce, Ex Vice-Dean for research and higher education of Laval university, and thanks to whom Laval university had achieved a gold rating in STARS Accreditation.

Prof. Eric Bauce is assisting the sustainable development department of UM6P during the preparation and audit phase of STARS accreditation submission with providing guidelines and technical tools to structure the reporting process. He is working and assisting the team during a
20 days face-to-face and 30 days remotely at a frequency defined by mutual agreement as required.
