A brief description of any internal sustainability professional development and training opportunities that the institution makes available to staff:
Missouri S&T provides opportunities for sustainability related training and professional development to all staff. These training opportunities are made available through the University’s my Learn online training system. In addition, the University provides annual general awareness training to all employees on the ISO 14001-certified environmental management system (EMS). Through this online training course, employees are made aware of Missouri S&T’s environmental policy and commitments, its significant environmental aspects, and objectives and targets. Employees are also made aware of their individual responsibility for upholding the requirements of the environmental policy and EMS procedures in order to help the University improve its overall environmental performance.

A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution(e.g. through payment, reimbursement, or subsidy):
In 2016, Missouri S&T sponsored and participated in the Sustainable Energy Conference. http://sefconf.mst.edu/ (Meg) - does the Laufer Energy Symposium for the Midwest Energy Policy Conference apply here? Also the Missouri Transect Annual Meeting - EPSCOR (Sept 2016)? Missouri S&T also hosts and sponsors a community Earth Day program. Local area schools can bring classes of students to participate in activities and tours. S&T Professional and Continuing Education offers the following sustainability-related professional development courses to the public:
